Anthony Gold

"....soulful songs are deeply immersed with Jazz, Blues and Latin influences..."

Sounding like a mix of Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and Steve Wonder over a bed of passionate Latin rhythms -, ‘Gold’ the artist is recognised as one of New Zealand’s most talented musicians, "I started performing when I was six. Making music since I was about nine, writing around fourteen and producing around twenty-one." ‘Gold’ grew up listening to his parent’s vinyl collection of Santana, Elton John, Doobie Brothers, Rolling Stones, Elvis, Shirley Bassey to name but a few, and those influences have come through in his songs.

‘Gold’ performs with his band of exceptional world-class jazz and Latin players.

He has collaborated with top New Zealand bands, such as Strawpeople, and was awarded with ‘Songwriter of the Year’ and ‘Silver Scrolls’ for co-writing ‘Sweet Disorder’ for Strawpeople in 1995.

Gold’s music has been influenced by his travels living in London, Spain, Australia and NYC. ‘I describe my music as universal and timeless, connecting people and cultures.’

‘Gold’ feels passionate about the music industry and has been in the game for a while to know its global characteristics and discomforts.

"I’ve remembered why I got into it. To be in a so-called personal ‘Paradise’ when I write and share this feeling with others, that’s what its all about the music. I’m fortunate that I now have a very caring Management powerhouse duo called The Brat Agency with Michelle and Carla. I love these guys and believe this combination of talent is the one I’ve been looking for to represent me and help me express what I have inside".
